3 Reasons You Should Join my Editing Team

I'm Emily!

I'm a NC girl born & raised, a wife to my college sweetheart, mom to my sweet daughter Caroline & fur-mom to my floof, Riley. I love summer days at the beach, fall weekends in the mountains, & everyday in between exploring new corners of the world. I live for Italian food, tacos & margaritas. Currently taking life one adventure at a time.

Why Join an Editing Team?

I get a lot of questions about the benefits to joining an editing team versus starting an editing business. The truth is, there are a ton of reasons why joining an editing team is the way to go. Today, I’m going to talk about the 3 reasons I think are the most important to consider.

1. You don’t have to run the business

One of the BEST things about joining my team is that you will not have to worry about any of the little details involved in running a business! As an associate editor for me, you’ll be in charge of recording catalog information upon receipt, editing for your clients, sending emails upon receipt/delivery, and sending out invoices. That’s it! You won’t have to worry about marketing, blogging, newsletters, or bringing in new clients because I will do all of that for you!

2. You don’t have as many expenses

While we are hiring an Associate Editor as an independent contractor and not an employee, you still won’t have the same expenses as you would if you were running your own business. Marketing alone can cost thousands each year if you factor in your website (themes, hosting, SSL certificates, domain names, etc.), stock images, templates, advertising, and email marketing service provider. On top of that, you won’t need to invest in a management program, you won’t have to cover payment fees from client payments, and you won’t need to cover client gifts! There are a few programs you will need to cover for yourself, but they’re pale in comparison to what you could be spending if you run your own business. By joining a team, you’ll save thousands of dollars a year!

3. You’ll have more time for yourself

Running your own business is not for the faint of heart. Not only does it take discipline, but frequently, you’ll find yourself working more hours than your standard 9-5 job. This is because as small business owners, we feel like we have to do it all…

(Spoiler alert:) We don’t!

By joining my team, you will save hours of time every week! The hours it takes to edit for 15 clients…plus blogging…plus marketing…plus…well, you get the idea. It adds up! Instead of investing 60+ hours a week trying to grow your business and working on enough catalogs in order to pay your rent and put food on the table, you’re able to stay closer to that 40 hour mark. There’s no stressing about how you’re going to get through it all and still make the income you want to make. You’re not having to spend that extra time marketing or bringing in new clients because, again, I’m doing all of that for you! You can stop worrying about missing out on life!
