Meet the Editor: Emily McIntyre

I'm Emily!

I'm a NC girl born & raised, a wife to my college sweetheart, mom to my sweet daughter Caroline & fur-mom to my floof, Riley. I love summer days at the beach, fall weekends in the mountains, & everyday in between exploring new corners of the world. I live for Italian food, tacos & margaritas. Currently taking life one adventure at a time.

Hello friends! Today is the first day of fall if you didn’t know! Currently, where I live we bounce back and forth between extremely hot and mild – so it may not feel 100% like fall yet, but we’re close! I can’t wait for all of the coziness fall brings, not to mention it means we are getting closer and closer to the holidays. Aside from that, it means a very busy time for me and my team! Fall is typically our busiest season, so we will be editing our little hearts out.

We’re able to maintain peace in the chaos because of my amazing team of associate editors. You’ve met five of them so far, which means we have two more to go. Today I’m going to introduce you to an editor who shares my name, Emily. This will be the sixth post in the “Meet the Editor” series. If you’d like to read the other posts, you can find them here.

I couldn’t be more thankful for my team of editors, so without further adieu, let’s get to know Emily!

Emily McIntyre – Photo Editor

Emily currently lives in Jasper, Alabama but is from Parkersburg, West Virginia. She has been married to her husband, Ty, for seven years and they have four wonderful children. She’s obsessed with her husky, Sydney, and all things Chip and Joanna Gaines.

How did she end up working for me? Would love to tell you! She has always loved the editing side of photography. In March 2020 she had a baby, COVID hit, and they moved to a new city (WOW). She launched an editing business because she thought photography would take a hit during that season. She soon realized running two businesses was very difficult, so she decided to let the editing go. However as luck would have it, she stumbled upon my Instagram and saw an ad for an associate editor and jumped at the chance to reach out. This opportunity allowed her to still be able to do both photography and editing. Winning!

Emily’s perfect weekend would look like this… on Saturday she’d like to sleep in (not always in the cards with four kiddos!), and then shoot a wedding! On Sunday, she loves love going to church with her family, taking Sunday naps, and then spending the evening having a movie night or dance party with her kids. On her travel bucket list you’ll find Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. If she ever gets the chance to travel to one of those countries, she may be listening to some 2000’s Country, Taylor Swift, One Republic, or Carolina Liar in her ear buds. Additionally, in her carry-on she would probably pack Chex Mix Bold, 3 Musketeers, and Fudge Rounds for some traveling snacks.

Emily is a very goal oriented person (love that about her!) and she has some big aspirations. She hopes to build her dream house in the next few years because six people under one roof can get a bit tight. In her business, she aspires to add to her team and hit the six figure income mark. Those are some awesome dreams, Emily!

Emily, I am so grateful for all that you bring to my business and I know your clients love you. Thanks for being so AMAZING! I hope you enjoyed “meeting” Emily and have learned something new about why I love my team so much. If you want to follow her, you can find her at @em_mc_photography and check her out here.

PS Thank you Jess, my virtual assistant, for the “this or that” graphic!
