Meet the Moores
I haven’t done a personal post on my blog since the relaunch of my site, so I thought I’d finally let you have a chance to meet The Moores (us!). Zach and I met in our *first* senior year at Appalachian State University. We always laugh about this because we both transferred our sophomore year and we both ended up going longer than we expected. I always joke that Zach knew I was the one on our second date when he quoted a line from ‘Monty Python and the Holy Grail’ and I knew exactly what it was from (though he usually agrees that that WAS the moment he knew).
The Long Distance
After only a year of dating, I moved to Portland, Oregon to pursue my career as a digital retoucher. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. Zach supported me the entire time, which still blows me away to this day. I don’t know many people who would be willing to do a long distance relationship like that, let alone while in a relatively young relationship. But we stuck through it!
After a year apart, he proposed while I was home for Christmas, and I couldn’t believe it! It’s hard to believe that we’ve been married almost a year now. I can’t believe how fast it’s flown by! We’ve already had so many adventures together: Australia, new house, new dog…it goes on and on! I love getting to wake up with him by my side everyday (okay honestly, most days he’s up first for work :D), and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us!
Our Fall Session
Back in the fall, we did a mini session with A.J. Dunlap Photography. It was absolutely perfect! I wasn’t able to blog them back then because my website was down, but now that I’m getting to blog again, I just HAVE to share these! We had to reschedule initially because of Hurricane Matthew, so we ended up shooting the day after, and it was the prettiest day! Carter captured us so perfectly (especially the last one)! She had Zach do what she called a “Sneak Attack” where he came up behind me and gave me a huge bear hug (which are my favorite pictures from this bunch!). So naturally, I wanted to see if I could do it, but I ended up just jumping on Zach to try to reach him…it didn’t end super well, but it made for a hilarious picture!
Thank you so much, Carter, for these awesome pictures! We just love them!
And my personal favorite…
This is just so us 🙂
