My Top 5 Favorite Websites for Free Styled Stock Images (+ Freebies!)

Styled stock images are a HUGE asset to building a service based business. When I first cut photography out of my business to pursue photo editing, I struggled to find content for marketing. I did not have time to take all of my own images on top of my editing business because let’s face it: that’s a full time job in itself! I soon found myself searching for ways to produce fresh daily content while still focusing on my business. That’s when I found the answer: styled stock photography! But when you’re posting 1-3 times a day, 5-7 days a week, how do you afford it?

Today, I’m telling you my top 5 places to get free, high quality stock photography! I love these shops so much that I do invest in their images frequently. These are in no particular order, so I recommend you check all of them out!

SC Stockshop

If you are familiar with the SC Stockshop, then you already know how much I love this resource for styled stock images! The SC Stockshop is one of the more expensive stock shops, but you get 20 free images just by signing up for the newsletter! Not only that, but you get 1-4 free images at the beginning of every month just by being a member of that mailing list.

The SC Stockshop also holds sales a couple times throughout the year, so if you are on a budget, you have a few opportunities to grab these at a great price! I guarantee that if you decide to invest in a stock image, you won’t be disappointed! These images are incredibly high quality, so you can crop them down to very small details within the image. In a couple of weeks, I’ll show you how you can get 30 images from a single SC Stockshop image, so check back if you want to see how to do that!

If you want the same great quality, but something less expensive, the SC Stockshop just released a sister site called Social Squares. The images are $15 an image, but they are all cropped into squares already. They are still great for social media posts!

Haute Chocolate

Haute Chocolate is another one of my favorite styled stock shops! This shop only offers memberships, so unfortunately, you aren’t able to buy collections individually. If you sign up for the mailing list, you get two free images instantly! Then you get free images monthly just by being on the list! Most of the images you receive are already cropped into a square, making them perfect for social media posts. You also get a pretty big variety of images from Haute Chocolate. As you can see below, you get a good mixture of flatlays and lifestyle images.

TwigyPosts

What I love about TwigyPosts is that the styled stock images are all lifestyle images. You won’t find anything on a solid background, but these are really great for mixing up your imagery on social media. Personally, I love these because they look like something I took myself in my own home. She also has a huge variety of mug and stationary mockups for designers! They’re really high quality and very affordable.

If you subscribe to TwigyPosts’ mailing list, you will receive free styled stock images every month! Not only that, but if you follow them on social media, they frequently post about surprise sales and opportunities to get extra free images! I’ve been able to get a handful of free images from them, and I am never disappointed! If you are interested in purchasing images from them, you can subscribe to her membership library or purchase these in individual collections.

You can purchase these images in individual collections for a really affordable price. They have a pretty big variety of colors and props used in their images. Don’t miss out on all this gorgeous stock!

What’s your favorite part of marketing? As a small business, I feel like I’m always doing some type of marketing but I really need to outsource it more. Hard to find your particular voice in someone else – but I know it can be done. But I guess I digress since this post is about stock images 🙂
