Off-season is Here!
Now that December is finally here, your inbox is probably getting flooded with tons of “This is my last wedding of the year!” emails. After such a busy season, this can be a relief. Trust me when I say that I all know that you’ve worked hard this year and you deserve some time off! This notion is wonderful…until you realize that it probably means that it is the last of your income for the next three months. Yikes! If you are anything like I was during my first year of business, this is really stressful. But I promise you: it will be okay! Off-season for photo editors is a great thing! Not only do we get to rest a little and recharge, but we have tons of time to prepare for the upcoming year!

So true! As a photographer, I tend to panic about this time every year, including this year. Slow season is real and can be anxiety inducing for sure. So nice to know others are in the same boat. Thanks for sharing!
I generally look forward to the off season, but this year… I’m not so sure I will get one. The slow season months are starting to look just as booked as all the other months for me.
It is crazy how drastic the change is from the full swing of things to an empty inbox. Thank goodness for the break though! Thank you for sharing your tips and tricks. This “down” time is only stressful, if we decide to perceive it this way. I, personally, like to fill it up with creative shoots and test various new ideas and locations. I will definitely download your book to get some more inspiration and ideas. Congratulations on finishing such a big project!

what a great resource for the off season! i am not quite to my off season yet but i’m SO CLOSE! and while it is stressful to not have as much income coming, you’re right, the recharging is so necessary!!
